Attract. Develop. Advance. Partner. Thrive.
The Red Invest group's Indigenous workforce development program, and the pathway by which trainees and graduates join Radian.
Pathways into architecture and design.
ADAPT is an Indigenous workforce development initiative run across Red Invest Capital Holdings and its partner organisations. It supports Indigenous talent, builds industry capability and creates meaningful opportunities within architecture, design, engineering and construction.
At Radian, ADAPT trainees and graduates work inside the studio alongside senior architects: documentation, drafting, site visits and client meetings. The aim is capability that lasts, and careers that continue well beyond the program.
Attract
Bringing Indigenous people into design, engineering and construction careers they may not have seen as open to them.
Develop
Structured traineeships and graduate pathways, learning inside working studios and on real projects.
Advance
Progression that is planned, mentored and measured, not left to chance.
Partner
Placements with industry partners as well as across the Red Invest group.
Thrive
Careers, not placements. The target is 250 or more Indigenous employees across the group by 2030.
Trained before they are placed.
ADAPT launched in early 2023 to upskill Indigenous people for professional roles such as drafting and planning. Radian welcomed its first trainee in February 2023.
Before any placement, trainees are trained to a level where they can work efficiently in a studio: Revit with the Radian architecture team, AutoCAD and Microstation designed by CAD leaders, and leadership development. Schedules and skills are set per trainee.

Host a placement.
Partner organisations host ADAPT participants on placement, building their own Indigenous workforce capability in the process. The ADAPT website explains how partnerships work.
